Mental Health
Im not exactly special for this, but I care a lot about mental health issues. Im part of the mental health generation. Everything in this section will be updated as my knowledge changes and improves, although Ill try my best to get most things right first time.
As it currently stands, there is no information I am sharing yet. Id prefer to do more research before publishing what I have written down. Please come back later!
Basic needs checklist
- If you haven’t eaten in 4 hours, get something to eat now. Ideally something healthier, like fruit or meat, but anything will do in a pinch.
- If you haven’t drank water in the last half hour, take at least a sip now.
- If it is between 11pm-7am, get some sleep. Even just closing your eyes for 20 minutes is fine if that’s all you can manage.
- If you haven’t showered today, go do that. Sit down if you need to. Scrub as much of your body as possible. Try to use shampoo.
- Change out of any stained, unwashed clothes that you’ve been wearing for more than 2 days in a row.
- Wash your face and brush your teeth if you can. If not right now, do it as soon as you’re able.
- Respond to a text message, text someone first, or talk to someone face to face.
- Have you been sitting in silence for more than 2 hours? Play some audio, or move somewhere with noise. Outdoors is a nice option.
- Have you been around constant/loud noises for more than 2 hours? Go somewhere quiet as soon as possible.
- Take at least a minute to stretch your arms, legs, back, and wherever else feels tense, regardless of how long you’ve been sitting.
- Can you tidy up something in your environment? Make your bed, put some trash in the bin, fold some clothes, load the dishwasher, or anything else? Complete at least one task, or keep tidying for as long as you’re able. Don’t overexert yourself.
- Look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds to avoid eye strain. Look as far to the left as possible, then as far to the right, up, then down, to stretch your eyes a little.
- Congrats! You did something.
